CoronaProjects

I’m thinking of starting a post about what new things I’m learning while Covid rages. I’ll have to back it up to last March when we all went into hiding, but I’ve found all sorts of satisfying and not very financially productive hobby’s. This will be a quick list and then I’ll fill out the stories in coming weeks. I’ve learned how to block print, make cider, make Baileys, make spoons, open an Etsy shop, make masks, throws and assorted other textile creations, take apart and re-construct pallet’s into mirrors, coffee trays, tables, etc. I’ve hiked my butt off and just discovered Geo-caching. Another useful skill just to make it seem like I’m actually doing something.

Day 2

Not starting out well, day 2 and I am using an older post. Oh well, I still like it. This is a felt ipad case with a hand block printed bicycle design.

Design a day

I’m going to try and complete a design everyday for 30 days. Whether it’s a new mask for venturing out in public or a pillow, a block print or a quilt design. If appropriate I’ll post to the Etsy page. C3design.etsy.com

Matthias Haker

SheWalksSoftly

Matthias Haker has all different types of photography in his portfolio, but I’m particularly fond of his HD (often panoramic) images of decay.

This perspective reminds me of sacred geometry; the spirals found in the Nautilus shell and other natural forms.

The colors manage to be both vibrant and soft, in stark contrast to the harsh toll nature has taken on these abandoned ruins. Beautiful…

Alexia Sinclair

SheWalksSoftly

At times I get what I can only call “crushes” (or perhaps something a little stronger…infatuations) with photography. I get completely enamored with the environments these geniuses create, and truthfully, kind of wish I could be part of one. Alexia Sinclair is a new favorite on my list.

From the artist bio:
Alexia Sinclair is an award winning Australian Artist and Photographer. Her distinct style is easily recognisable and highly original. Using a visual narrative to seduce her audience with each photographic feast, Sinclair’s art is dark and seductive, baroque and symbolic. Her multilayered photographs subtly present contemporary notions of fashion and beauty through innovative digital media, whilst restoring antique notions of classicism, elegance and luxury.

Sinclair is an artist who skilfully walks the tightrope that divides the worlds of Fine Art and Commercial Art. Whilst her evocative Fine Art imagery adorns the walls of museums and is…
